Q: How are you able to offer radio airplay service?
A: We have years of combined experience in radio airplay marketing. Through one on one communication, music showcasing, and our reputation, we have developed a rapport with radio executives of all genres. Our history and honesty earned us the trust from radio executives who view our business as a go-to promoter for inspirational music. We take the appropriate time and examine music before determining if a song can receive marketing and/or airplay. We save radio executives valuable research time, advertisements and the labor that is required to work a song for radio marketing. Not everyone is accepted! We only approve projects that are realistically likely to be accepted by a listening audience.
Q. Can you tell me more about the College Radio service?
A: We target hundreds of top College radio stations across the country including those with the biggest markets and/or signal power. These stations generally have multiple DJs who program many styles of music into their individual shows. Many of these stations have Block programming, which includes several hours of a certain style of music each week, including Alternative, Rock, Acoustic, Americana, Dance, Reggae, Hip Hop, Jazz, Urban, Electronic, and more.
Q. Can you tell me more about the FM Christian Radio service?
A: We target the biggest market Contemporary Christian stations in the US.Includes all BDS monitored stations. Current core artists include Casting Crowns, MercyMe, Amy Grant, Needtobreathe, Flyleaf, Switchfoot.
A: In a separate package we target top Gospel radio stations across the US including all of the BDS and Mediabase monitored panel. These stations play music from artists such as Bebe and CeCe Winans, MaryMary, and Deitrick Haddon.
A: We also have a package to target more than 25 radio stations across the US that requested inclusion on a list to receive new Christmas/Holiday themed music for airplay consideration on their seasonal playlist.
Q: How do I know my music is actually being played?
A: We provide our clients with detailed radio tracking reports on a weekly basis created by 3rd party radio monitoring companies such as BDS (Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems), Mediabase and/or Digital Radio Tracker. You will be able to see radio airplay stats according to each radio broadcaster that plays your music. You can tune in to the radio stations by going directly to the stations listed in the airplay report.
Q: Do you announce when my song will be played?
A: Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) have rules that state that there should be No Prior Announcements. A Webcaster must not publish an advance program schedule that discloses: (i) the titles of specific songs, (ii) the names of albums or (iii) the names of artists to be transmitted (with exception).
Q: How many digital radio stations can I expect my music to be played on?
A: It is virtually impossible to say. We service the entire station panel of your genre. It is up to each programmer on whether they choose to add your music to their station’s playlists. We concentrate on the spin count and consistent programming. Our objective is not just to have your music played one time on fifty stations, but fifty times on each station. The strategy is to give the listener adequate time to develop a potential interest in your song. This is why we focus on radio airplay spin count and not just a station count which will make an even greater impact on your music!
Q: How many FM stations can I expect my music to be played on?
A: We provide access to your promotional release for radio programmers to stream and download in broadcast-quality. There is never a guarantee your release will be listened to by a FM radio programmer, or played on air. That depends on the quality of your music and what the radio programmer is looking for.
Q: Does FM Radio stations prefer Mp3 or Wav files?
A: Radio holds very high standards for the quality of audio they play on-air. Wav is the standard uncompressed digital file format suitable for radio. The compression used in converting music to mp3 degrades audio quality. Distributing a less than pristine audio file will limit your chances of gaining airplay, especially with satellite and HD broadcasters. We highly recommend that your track be sent in full wav format for FM stations. In short, the higher the quality of the submitted track, the better it will represent your music, increasing the chance for consideration by programmers. Note: the source must be CD quality. Converting an mp3 to wav does not improve audio quality.
Q: Do I need to encode my music for digital airplay?
A: No, you do not need to encode your music for our digital airplay. We actually prefer that it’s not encoded. We encode your song to ensure it has been encoded properly to assure YOU don't miss one spin on your radio tracking reports. If you have already encoded your music with a particular radio tracking system please notify us when securing your radio marketing campaign.
Q: Do I need hard copy CDs?
A: No, we do not require any hard copy CDs unless you are doing our College Radio Airplay Campaign. Everything we do is executed via broadcast quality MP3 of your song. We service our entire panel of radio station programmers/DJs with your MP3 as displayed on our website. Your music will also be securely available for all stations to download at any time during the radio campaign promotional timeline.
Q: What happens if my song fits in two separate genres, do I have to pay twice in order to get serviced to both genre panels?
A: No, not for the digital radio campaigns. We screen your music to make sure we are servicing it to the right genre station panel. Your song will be serviced to ALL panels in which it fits their format at no additional charge to you.
A: Yes, for the FM Radio Formats! Each targeted format is a separate package. We will let you know which format is best for your song.
Q: Do I need to pay for my radio tracking reports separately from your service?
A: No, you do not need to subscribe to BDS, Mediabase, or Digital Radio Tracker. Depending on the promotional radio airplay campaign selected, we ALWAYS provide these radio tracking reports to you for FREE with your campaign purchase. Of course, you can subscribe if you wish, but they can be very costly and you may want to use that budget for additional radio airplay marketing services we provide. All of our digital packages include Digital Radio Tracker radio tracking reports which consist of a breakdown of reporting radio stations information. This includes radio station name, the breakdown of radio airplay detections per day as well as weekly totals.
Q: How do I sign up for recurring billing?
A: At this time we do not have a recurring billing system. If you want to renew/extend or upgrade your radio airplay campaign, simply let us know.
Q: Do you offer multi-project discounts or can I submit more than one song per artist for radio airplay?
A: Yes, for the digital radio campaigns. We do offer discounts for multi-project commitments at the same time. Please include the details on the submit form. However, we DO NOT accept more than two songs per artist. An additional song(s) only dilutes your campaign and forces programmers/DJs to make a choice on which song they wish to add to their playlist.
Q: We are often asked what separates Devine Jamz Gospel Network from other radio airplay promotion/music companies or websites that offer the same or similar radio airplay services?
A: First and foremost we show our self-approval to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Although there are some great radio airplay promotion companies and credible websites out there, Devine Jamz prides ourselves on doing the will of God promoting faith-based songs. We also understand that getting airplay alone may not be the best strategy for many new artists. So, we have additional services in our packages that will provide more publicity on a long-term basis.
